Outlook Task issue

Just wondering if anyone has seen tasks that were assigned to an individual
just vanish from the assigner's list. When an update was sent and the
message opened, this message was displayed - THE MATCHING TASK WAS NOT FOUND
IN YOUR TASK LIST -
I have found that using the preview pane will adversely affect how tasks are
handled and updated. We are no longer using the preview pane on any of our
folders in Outlook.

Also anyone seen tasks that don't update correctly after being assigned?

We are using Exchange 2000 server with individuals using Outlook versions
2000 and 2002.

Any help with wierd task issues would be helpful.
