We cannot divine what error messages your Outlook is issuing in response
to a download attempt of pending inbound e-mails. Tell us what is the
error message. There are lots of them and they cannot all be addressed
at once.

From such a terse question, "Is there a way to fix it?", an equivalent
terse answer is, "Maybe." Help us to help you.

Sorry I posted this in Outlook newsgroup (I see this as
genereal) and then found out that somehow aj overlooked
this article.

I dont know it is the same problem, but who knows?

BTW: Norton Antivirus chekking e-mails may stop Outlook
from receiving e-mails from POP3 servers. MS claims it to
be Symantec problem and there is kb article somwhere
regarding this. But I have no NAV runing :-(

=========================================================
We are having this problem with Outlook 2002 connecting on
our mail server (Kerio Mail Server). Error message below:

Task 'm.grinvalsky' reported error (0x8004210A) :
'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the
receiving (POP)server. If you continue to receive this
message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP).'

This only happens on Outlook 2002, if I use Outlook
express and other MUA, no problem. I have already patched
the Outlook 2002 from available patches from Microsoft.
Sometimes Outlook works then later it will give
me the above message, I have been searching the internet
for solutions and cannot find any.

Thanks for any hints
