When composing a new message, Outlook should allow the user to select the
categories to which he wants to send an email. This is easier than defining
contact groups (whose management is not very simple). Many things, including
drag and drop contacts from the contact list, could be done to facilitate the
task of sending emails.

Outlook already does this. Apply the By Category view to your Contacts
folder. Select all the items in the category you want to send to, then
choose Actions | New Message to Contact.

I don't have the option to send "New Message to Contact" when I select
multiple contacts and right click. That would be nice. It does work by
going to the Actions menu, thanks for telling me. It would be really nice to
have buttons somewhere, like my PDA does, that let you easily navigate the
categories.

I would like similar guidance. I have contacts in different folders that
have been assigned the same category. I want to be able to send an e-mail to
all persons listed in that category regardless of which folder they are in.
I figured out how to send an e-mail to all persons who have been assigned a
particular category if they are within the same folder. I'm looking for a
way to send to all contacts assigned a particular category even if they are
in separate folders so I don't have to send a separate message for each
folder.
