Every time I send a mail, in the status bar on the right at the bottom, there
are displayed a lot more emails that get send than there are in my outbox.
e.g. if i send one mail, outlook displays there that it sends 3 or 4 or 5 or
more emails. does anyone know the reason for this problem. can this be a
keylogger or something similar that uses outlook to send information or
screens to a host?

- In the outbox there are only the messages that i wrote
- it is outlook 2007
- it is an pop3 account (different accounts)

it happens independend of the email account that I use. sometimes it showes
more emails sometimes less, but always more then I send.

Outlook 2007 has an issue with showing more messages than are actually
sending when you have more than one account. It's cosmetic, so ignore it.
I'm fairly sure it will be fixed eventually.

Now in March 2011, not yet fixed by Microsoft!
With Windows 7 and Outlook 2010, exactly the same problem...

I have two accounts, and am forced to use the workaround using groups.

Me too!

Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate
Have all e-mail accounts ( 13, yes, you might be curious as to why I have so many. It's business related.
Today I sent one email. I happen to look at the lower right of Outlook window and noticed to my astonishment, the send details at the lower left screen showed sending 13 e-mails.

Curious -- the same number as the # of e-mail accts in Outlook.
