Outlook should let me remove the navigation pane panels

I don't like that Outlook 2003 forces me to have the "Favorite Folders" panel
and the navigation buttons at the bottom of the Navigation Pane. I'd like to
have that room for viewing my personal folders instead like it was in Outlook
2000.

I've done both of these but still have a panel at the top for the Favorite
Folders and at the bottom for the buttons.

Oops. Actually if I go to Go>Folder List it does remove the Favorite Folders
panel at the top but still not the buttons panel on the bottom. However, I
cannott access my Personal Folders to get to my Contacts for some reason. An
error message comes up as below, which directs

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using is:
Unavailable
Protected with file permissions
On a share on a server and the network is down
Corrupt
To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local computer.
You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify
file integrity.

Have you verified the path to the pst-file? If it is not correct remove it
and add the correct one throguh File-> Data File Management.

Hi Roady,

Thanks for all your help. I've gone to Settings > Data Files and I see
where my pst and archive files are being stored. I'm not having a problem
accessing my email or contacts as long as I do it using the navigation
buttons on the bottom. It's only when I click on the Personal Folders folder
in the Folder List that it brings up that error message. So does that
suggest that the pst file path is not the issue, since it's working in one
place and not the other?

Thanks again,
Amie
