Outlook should let me pick/seperate email addresses from/by contac

Like many, I have many categories for my contacts. When I go to send an
email, I may wish to address it to multiple addresses that are only found in
one of my contact categories. At present, I have to scroll through an entire
list of my contacts, with seemingly no way to seperate and organize from
which email group I wish to choose from.
 
You failed to post the method by which you are selecting your recipients.
If you want to use categories then you should not be using the Outlook
Address Book.
You should be using your Contacts Folders.
 
Go to your Contacts folder. Show the Advanced Toolbars and learn how to use
the Field Chooser and Group By Box. This way you can group by Category and
then drag a whole category to your Outbox to email to them.
