Outlook should have option of NOT auto-saving all email addresses

Each time I send an email, Outlook automatically saves the address. It keeps
the addresses in some sort of hidden list and uses that saved list for
suggestions (short-cuts) when I send new emails.

This is a problem, and I would like to delete the bulk of the email
addresses there -wherever it is.

For instance, several people I've sent emails to are people whose addresses
begin with Tim. Outlook gives a list of those address. If I'm not careful, it
is very easy to send an email to the wrong Tim.

Being a journalist, much of my correspondence with people is short-term.
While I might be emailing Tim-1 frequently for 1 or 2 weeks, after my story
is done I may never email Tim-1 again.

Yet, with 6 Tims in my Outlook list (I don't even know who some of them are
anymore), it is too easy to sometimes send emails meant for Tim-4 to Tim-1 or
Tim-2.

There is no easy way to remove the unwanted names. There is no option to
stop the auto-saving of addresses everytime you email someone. At least none
that I could find.

I'm using XP-Pro.

Your operating system is not what we need to know.
Your Outlook version is.
I assume you are using a version that has autocompletion. You can easily
turn that feature off ("Suggest Names" in Advanced email options).
Remove any name you no longer want in the cache by highlighting it in the
list and hitting your delete key. You can also clear the entire cache by
renaming the NK2 file for that profile.
