Outlook sharing prg. that well support conflicts

For Outlook XP, is there a cheaper alternative to Exchange that supports
conflicts on items' modifications?

ie. when two people modify the same item in the same time I would like not
to loose one part's modification, like all Outlook sharing program I tested
do.

Have you try "Public Outlook"?

in "Public Outlook" we have developed a record locking, so if you open a
contact and another one too, and if you change something and save this, it
is not possible for the other user to save/overwrite this informtion. He
will get a message, that this item is still changed. He will be asked if he
would like to safe this information in his personal folder, but to overwrite
the information is not possible.

If one person open a Contact/Calendar, Task etc., of course it must be
possible for other users in a network to open also this items, so you won´t
get a message that an item is still open, but if you change something and
you would like to safe this, you will get a message that this item is still
changed and safed.
