Hi,
here is my scenario:

- Outlook 2003 on desktop at work using exchange server and account
(email used at work)
- Outlook 2003 on desktop at home using pop3 accounts (personal
emails)

I don't need to use my exchange email at work but I would like to
share contacts and appointments between work and home. It happens that
i write appointments at home and then I want to see them at work and
vice-versa, the same for contacts.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lorenzo

unless you have rpc over http access to the exchange server, you'd have to
copy them and take them home to import them. You could forward appointments
or invite your other address to get them into both versions.

As usual, Diane is right on. I might add, though, that sneaker-netting
your work contacts into your home contacts is not a bad thing for most
people to do once-in-awhile anyway, even if you have RPC over HTTPs
Exchange access.

Many/most of the contacts on my work Exchange mailbox are contacts I
would want to take with me if/when I leave my current employer. Once a
week, I export my contacts, calendar, and tasks in CSV format and then
email each of them to my Gmail account. Take me about five minutes to
do all three. That way, if/when I leave my current gig and IT shuts
down my mailbox/network access, I don't have to worry about getting
those things. It's one less thing I have to think about as I pack up
my office stuff or negotiate with my employer about.

(I'm not at all on shaky ground with my employer, nor am I looking to
leave. But let's be honest: most people who are laid off/fired, it
does come as a surprise to them..... You just never know....)

Hi,
thanks for the answers.

The situation is that I have RPC over HTTP.
But if I setup the exchange account at home the situations are:
1) I could do it by setting up a different profile, but contacts/
calendars are not shared between the two profiles (one for the
exchange, the other for POP accounts).
2) I set up the exchange in the same profile of the POPs account, the
folders are remote, then I have to deliver my POP mails to the
exchange account and setup rules to move them into different folders.
And what happens if they close my exchange account? I loose
everything? I also have the exchange mails that I don't need...
3) I setup only the contacts/calendar as RPC... But I don't know if it
is possible, i tried without success!

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Use #2 and deliver the mail to a folder in your pst on your home system. Or,
if your personal act support imap, use it in the profile with exchange.
