I want to change my outlook that when I delete a message in my INbox that it
goes away (right now I get a line through the message). After the message is
deleted, I would like that it goes to the Deleted File. Can you help?

You forgot to mention a very important detail: what TYPE of e-mail account
you are using. Sounds like you are using an IMAP account. That is how IMAP
works. When you delete an item on your client, it only gets marked as
eligible for deletion and won't happen until whenever your e-mail client
next synchronizes to your mailbox up on the server. That might be whenever
is the configured mail poll interval in your e-mail client. It might be
when you switch between folders if the e-mail client has an option to sync
on changed focus on the folder. It will happen if you force an immediate
mail poll (by hitting F9 in Outlook) or force an immediate Purge (which does
a mail poll to do the sync).

In IMAP, deleting an item only makes it eligible for that action but doesn't
happen until you actually synchronize to the IMAP server. The point of IMAP
is to keep the folders in sync between client and server.

You could use a customized view that hides the delete-tagged items but they
aren't actually deleted until whenever is the next time your e-mail client
performs a mail poll to sync it to your mailbox. However, it could end up
that the deletes are failing so you end up with a lot of delete-tagged
e-mails sitting in your e-mail client but you won't know because you hid
them.
