outlook- sending photo attachments

My friend just loaded Windows XP for Home and now she can
not attach any photos to her email in outlook. She is
beside herself. In fact I just did an email for her to
attach some photos.
Does she need to reload her office software? or is there
something else she needs to do in order to be able to
send attachments again.
She had Windows ME previously...

Can she send any other kind of attachments? Like a .txt file? When you say
she can't attach them, what occurs when she clicks the paperclip? Does she
attach them but they don't get sent?

Sorry, I just don't understand the problem.
