OUtlook - send & receive

having a problem sending & receiving email. checked all settings with
internet provider. when i click on send & receive I get the following
message 'preparing to send....'. no error messages. how do i solve this
problem.

send reply thru web. no email

There should be an error tab on your send/receive window. Click on that, it
will detail a more accurate error message. Also include your version of
Outlook and your type of mail account.
