HELLLPPP!! Running Outlook 2002 on XP Pro. My machine is
a Dell Inspiron 8100 with 1.1gHz, 512kRAM. I was starting
to have problems with my Outlook addresses a week ago. (I
manage four different POP email accounts). I deleted two
and reinput those two. Then when checking for email, it
was only checking for two email addresses. I then deleted
all the accounts and reinput, and then I could not change
the "default" email address. Then when trying to send an
email I clicked on the "account" drop down, and I got
a "Outlook performed an illegal operation" message. NOW I
cannot get it to even check for mail. Here's what I have
done recently:

-I have rebooted (several times) to no avail.
-I archived everything, and deleted a lot of old mail (I
thought maybe I was hitting the max on the .pst). Didn't
help.
-A couple of weeks ago I installed ACT! 6.0. It has
a "competing" email program, could this have affected
Outlook??

Unless someone could suggest anything, I would like to
reinstall Outlook from my disk. Would any of my of my
stored messages or archived .pst be affected?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds like your e-mail profile isn't all that anymore.

Go to mail in your configuration screen and delete the
mail profile (button "Show Profiles"). Then recreate the
profile with all your accounts again. Import/connect your
pst-files to access your archived mail.

Since you've back-up all the pst-files you'll not loose
data. You probably will miss some settings.

Good Luck!
