I have Office Professional. Unfortunately, at random
times, I can exit Office, walk away from my desktop and
come back at a later date and time, restart outlook
and...it opens automatically without requiring a password.
When this happens, I have checked the task manager and can
see that Outlook (while not open on the desktop) is still
open as a task in the background. In a few occasions,
there are multiple occurences of Outlook running at one
time...none of which required a login before opening my
personal files.
My settings are all set to require a password upon start
of Outlook. I do not understand why Outlook appears to
randomly stay open although it appears to be closed and
yet when restarting the program, it will open back up
without requiring a password. This means, it is possible
that someone could walk up to my computer and open outlook
and have access to my files -- even though it is supposed
to provide a login protection.
Does anyone have any ideas of how to trace this problem or
report it to microsoft. My version is a full version
distributed via student purchase at Indiana University so
I do not have a support option.
Thank you.
