Outlook search and advanced search not working (tried rebuilding the index)

The outlook Instant Search and Advanced Search (when I press ctrl + shift + f) are not working. The Instant Search says it encountered an error and the Advanced Search just hangs when I run it.

What else can I do since I've already rebuilt the index? Can anyone help me? I can't seem to get an answer, and it would really help me if I could use this feature.

Even if the answer is that I have to completely reinstall Office, but I'm not sure that would even help. Maybe there's some virus, and I need to scrap my computer and use the rescue disks. I really hope I don't have to do that, but I will if it is the only way to get this feature to work.

Thanks,
Brad

Hi Bradley,

which version of Outlook? Is just the keyboard shortcut not working or the
menue option (tools/find) as well?
Have you tried the detect and repair function in the help menue?
(If you think you may have a virus, just scan your system to clarify)

I'm in a similar boat. I've used Advanced Find (Advacned Search or
CTRl+SHIFT+F) for years. Now, in 2007, when I do this:
- display my calendar.
- Press CTRL+SHIFT+F
- Type in Lunch for the subject.
- Press enter OR click Find Now
I get no results --- I have found that I have to press enter or click Find
Now five or six times --- THEN I get my results (you have to watch for it;
one extra click and you are back to no results)

:-(

Anyone know if there is a fix for this, or, is it broken?
