Outlook Runs with a Very Large Memory Footprint... why?

My outlook 2003 runs with a memory footprint between 40 and 50MB. Other
people with the same version of Outlook run in the 7MB range.

What could be causing this and how do I fix it?
 
Are you running any Add Ins, COMs, Synch software? Are you scanning
incoming/outgoing mail with your AV software?
 
No COMS. Only a few add-ins. We do have AV but I believe it is mostly done
