Outlook rule for read receipts?

Is it possible to set up a rule that would flag an incoming mail message if
a read receipt request was detected? The reason I ask is that I've noticed
certain people in my organization often don't read emails from me if I've
selected the read receipt option.

The recipient gets to choose how to react to a read receipt *request*.
They can automatically reply to it, ignore it, or get prompted (to reply
or ignore). You might be sending out e-mails with a read receipt
request in them but that doesn't mean all recipients are configured to
automatically reply to them. Could be some of your recipients have
Outlook configured NOT to reply (or prompt and then THEY choose not to
reply). If they configure Outlook to ignore the read receipt request,
or if they get prompted and then choose to ignore it, then maybe you
need to switch to using the delivery receipt option and enforce policy
that dictates employees ARE responsible for their e-mails.

Enabling a read receipt in an email will add the following header:

Disposition-Notification-To: "youroptionalname"
<youremailaddresshere>

So, yes, anyone can define a filter to do whatever action they select on
an e-mail that has this header in it.

Thanks.
