Create new calendar item
Check “all day eventâ€
Click Recurrence
Select “Dailyâ€
Select an End By date at least 1 day after start date
Set a reminder
Try to save the item
See error message

You would think that this would be allowed for a few reasons, one being that
you would like a reminder for at least the first occurence. I know you can
break these down to individual items and set reminders that way. I'm putting
this out there just to see if anyone knows why this indeed behaves this way
and if there is a technical reason for it not being allowed.

You would think that this would be allowed for a few reasons, one
being that you would like a reminder for at least the first
occurence.

But the first occurrence will already be in progress, since it is "today"
(unless you specify a start date as well), and the time for reminding about
it is long past, since midnight today already happened. The behavior
Outlook demonstrates makes sense to me.

If you try the repro scenario I listed, it will not even allow you to create
the meeting with the reminder box checked. And even so what happens if I
wanted to be reminder about the second occurence, and so on. i think the
behavior does not match "real life" situations.

And yes, of course specifying a start date...I just assumed that but I should
have been more explicit.
