Outlook registry request

After having used my Outlook for several years, it is now
giving me an error that says my program is not properly
registered. It will not allow me to open Outlook. I try
to re-install but get an Error 1402: Could not open key
and then it stop installing. Any suggestions. Outlook
2000 Professional. thanks.
