outlook refuses to send emails!

I am getting real frustrated. i have uninstalled outlook and reinstalled
it. i have tried everything that i can think of (even disabled anti-virus
software after doing a complete scan of the computer). nothing will work.
does anyone know why i can receive emails no problem and when you click on
test account settings everything works except for sending an outgoing
message? below are some of my previous posts.




i have tried that with no luck. i have mcaffee anti-virus online and i
disabled it. after disabling it, the same problem continued. anything else
that could cause this. i have already uninstalled and reinstalled the
software.

for the ip address, i replaced the last numbers with letters to protect the

account details and click on "Test Account Settings", everything works
except for "send test message". for that, i get an error message saying
that it was unable to send test message. Please verify the email address

It sounds like you have an invalid SMTP server set in your account details.

Is your email account provided by your ISP?

If not, then I would suggest setting the SMTP server to that of your ISP.

Do you have any anti-virus software installed on the machine that's having

Well I stared having the exact same problem this weekend! I have
searched all over the internet and tried to do most of the things that
you have done. I think the part that suprises me most is that the ISP
(Cox) says that isn't there problem. However I am unable to send
emails with Netscape either! I am really stuck and very upset.

What sort of error message are you getting when you try to send with
Outlook?
