Outlook recipients

Does not getting a reply to a message mean that I didn't
explain the issue clearly or that no one has an answer? I
posted the message "email recipient not typed by sender"
on 2/10 but have not gotten any replies.

You got one reply and we need more information:

"What special character? Outlook version?" asked by Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP
When addressing an email, if the sender inadvertently
types a special character after a ; after a recipient's
name, it resolves that special character to my name and I
receive the email.

A lack of response usually means:

-- No one knows the answer.

-- The answer is, "No you can't do that," and everyone is tired of giving
that answer.

-- The question is an FAQ, and everyone is tired of giving the answer.
(Unlikely, because most of the MVPs, at least, can answer an FAQ in just a
few seconds.)

-- No one understands your question. You can help by making sure you've
provided Outlook version and mail configuration details, exact text of any
error messages, and other detailed problem symptoms. You can always reply to
your own message to give more information or rephrase the questions. Posting
a message like the one below to direct attention to another message is not
likely to produce a response.

-- Everyone is busy putting out fires or laying in the hammock or skiing.

While you're waiting, why not search the archives at
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=lang_en&safe=off&group=microsoft.public.outlook
to see if someone has already provided an answer to a similar question
earlier?
 
Just as I suspected -- everyone's off skiing!

I've searched google & microsoft but so far have only
found someone with the same problem but no resolution.

I added info to my original post.
