Outlook: receiving e-m,but can't send

My colleague can receive e-mails but his sent e-mails don't go and remain in
his outbox. He has internet access. Under "Tools", his account settings
appear similar to mine, which work.

The link you provided seems to talk about Outlook 2003 and 2002. I should
have mentioned that his Outlook is 2007, but I have gone to the link you sent

about turning on the details. Do you mean the progress window that shows up
