I recently installed Outlook 2003 and it seems to, at
random times, "forget" the username and password
information for my POP3 mail account, even though I
checked the "Remember" button.
I have two POP accounts, and have Outlook configured to
automatically check both of them every 15 minutes. Most
times this works just fine. Lately, two or three times a
day I get a dialog saying, "Enter the username and
password for this account" with the info already filled
in, but it requires me to hit "OK" before it'll do the
Send/Receive with the server. This dialog also has a
checkbox for "Remember this information", which I
regularly check, and still I get prompted. Not every
time, just whenever Outlook feels lonely, apparently. It
happens on both accounts that I have configured, though
not both together at the same time.
I've tried deleting the accounts and recreating them.
Problem came back within a couple of days.
Could this be an ISP problem rather than an Outlook
problem? Are there any log files I can check? Is it (by
any chance) a known Outlook problem, and is there a
workaround?
Thanks in advance,
