Hi :
Outlook 2000
Windows XP prof
I had problems with my outlook "main" pst file ( one that receives email delivery ) somehow it was getting corrupted. I believe that it was corrupted while AVG was starting up.
- I removed as many emails to another PST file
- compacted the remaining "main" pst file
- "main" pst file went from 1.3 gig to 0.5 gig
- Could not move all emails as I got an error "files already moved, deleted, etc"
as well as request to run Inbox Repair Tool.
- I backed up the "main" pst file by copying to another folder, I also
had another back up of the original 1.3 gig "main" pst file ...
- I then ran SCANPST.exe without using it's back up request.
-> It appeared that SCANPST.EXE worked a little bit but I still could not
move all the emails to a safe alternative PST file.
-> ** Somehow after using SCANPST.EXE several of my PSTs including
the back up compressed "main" pst, the original 1.3 gig "main" pst,
as well as several other ALL require a password to open them into
Outlook now. PROBLEM is that I did not make one and I don't have any
information why this happened and what the password is.
Is there a default password ?
In the folder containing around 8 PST files, I only have one single PST that requires a password - and that was created by purpose around 2 months ago.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards
