I have loaded my Office 2007 upgrade and all the programs are working except
Outlook 2007 did not load. Obvioussly it is causing a lot of problems becasue
Outlook 2003 is looking for Word 2003 as my editor.

Outlook is defined as one of the programs that I should have and when I
check out the upgrade disk it apperas to be there but it just didn't load.

Thanks

you need to uninstall outlook 2003 first - then reinstall office and make
sure outlook is included.

Thanks but that did not work. I had to uninstall Office 2003 in its entirety
in order to uninstall Outlook 2003. After I did this I reinstalled Office
2007 and there still was no Outlook. Outlook is on the disk but it does not
load. Fortunetly I was aable to reinstall just Outlook 2003 but of course it
will not look to Work 2007 as an option to be a meail editor.

I don't understand why Microsoft does not have direct support for people
with these problems.

Did you do a Custom install and select Outlook. If you did the default install it might not have been selected to install

Not true. Use the Add or Remove Features option and change the Outlook icon
from "Run from My Computer" to "Not Available".

You should be able to use the Add Feature option on the installation and
enable Outlook in a similar fashion.

My installation does exactly the same thing Outlook 2007 is "not available".
No explantion of why - it's on the CD. I cannot install it from either the
setup on the CD or from the add feature option in control panel.
I've been round the Microsoft support site loop a few times & can find
nothing related to this issue.
I can't get direct support on installing Outlook because I can't get the
product ID, because I need to install it and licence it first. Catch 22.

Did you uninstall outlook 2003 before installing Office 2007?

Before the fist installation of Office 2007- No. It said on the tin it was an
upgrade. I have subsequently removed the Outlook 2003 installation using the
Office 2003 add / remove components and tried the Outlook 2007 install again,
the problem is unchanged.

If you uninstall the prior version of Outlook first?

If you have Office installed, open ANY Office application and click
Help>About. The Product ID will be there. It's the same ID for all Office
apps.
