I'm running XPPro with SP2, IE6, Outlook 2003.
After installing MS Antispyware most of my "favorites" in
IE were gone, and my outlook profile and saved email were
gone. There was nothing in recycler and the folders that
they should have been in are now empty.
The IE issue is trivial but I've lost a tremendous amount
of email, my calendar, and adress book.

Can anybody please explain why this has happened and if
there is a way to recover the lost files?

Thanks

Perhaps all is not lost! This happened to my husband's
Outlook folder. His quick launch toolbar was also closed.
I turned the toolbar back on. Then I opened Outlook and
clicked on FILE>Data File Management. It showed that a
new Personal folder had been created for him
(Outlook1.pst, I believe). This folder was designated as
the one to which mail should be delivered. But his
original folder was still there. Without providing all
the details (I'd have to recreate the steps), I was able
to re-designate his original outlook.pst file as the
default mail delivery file, and then when I was assured
that all his e-mail was still there, etc., I deleted the
newly created outlook1.pst. All is now as it was
before. Who would guess that installing this program
could do all that!
