I am running Outlook 2000 SP3. When I exit Outlook, task manager shows that
an Outlook process continues to run, and the process continues to
periodically check for new mail on my email accounts, displaying an icon in
the system tray when new mail arrives.
Furthermore, each time I start and exit Outlook, a new Outlook process is
created and continues running. So, I can end up with 5 or more Outlook
processes
running, even though I have exited the Outlook application each time.
Is there any way to disable this behavior, so that no background process
continues after exiting the application?
