Windows XP Home users.

Hope someone can help. About 90% of the time I restart
or shut down, I get a message that says "outlook not
responding" even though I've already closed outlook. if
I don't hit "cancel" the machine never shuts down. if i
do hit "cancel" it shuts down fine. Any reason I am
getting this message and any news how to fix?

I am totally up to date on windows updates.

Look for programs that keep Outlook resident in memory and prohibit from
shutting down. Here are some things I am aware of.

1) Third party addins (see tools | options | other | advanced options |
addin manager/com addins)
2) antivirus software
3) pda, fax, .etc software that syncs with outlook data

Ian -- I am having the exact same problem and have
searched everywhere on Microsoft.com for an answer to
this problem to no avail. I read the reply from Nikki
but it didn't make too much sense to me. Would you
please let me know when you get it figured out what to
do? Thank you so much!

Nikki,

I am having the same problem as Ian. However, I don't
understand the list of things you're aware of. Could you
please explain? Thanks.

Kelly
