How do I set the registery to tell Outlook to disbale the
preview screen and make it unaccesable?

Please.

1. This isn't a Windows 2000 question.
2. Do you know that it's possible?
3. What version(s) of Outlook?
4. Have you tried asking in an Outlook group?

I suggest that you ask in an Outlook group and include the version(s) of
Outlook you're using and what the reasoning behind your desire is. Using
the preview pane keeps you less vulnerable than opening each message in its
own window.

Ray - #1 & 4: I asked in Win2k/ Registry because it's a
registry setting and we are using Win2k - and yes, I have
asked in the Office/ Outlook with no luck there either.

#2. Everything is possible. If we can't set the registry,
we can develop a macro to disble the use of preview.
Instead of using up time to develop to macro or program to
diable the use, I would like to set the registry in the
NTUSER.dat default hive.

#3. Office 2k/ Outlook 2k SP3 (9.0.0.6627)

The reason to remove and disable the preview screen
because it opens the email (preview) that tells spammers
that the email address is valid by receipt. Our users are
told to NEVER open email from an address or subject line
that isn't valid, unknown or requested by the user.
Further, we strongly require that no user, ever open an
attachment unless approved by IT regardless of the sender.

So if it is possible, we would like to change Outlook
default preview to 0 (zero) and disble the feature from
being enabled. By learning that it is not a registry
entry, we can move on to other solutions.

Thanks for any help.
