Hey Bill
I had the same issue when I first setup windows mail. There are other
factors that will cause this.
I had remove the original account in windows mail and set it back up. fixed
my issue
I work for a ISP and see this issue a whole bunch.
1. With the yahoo servers when a account is accessed thru he pop account
settings, the account is temporarily locked until about 30 seconds after the
client finishes receiving the email. If you client is checking emails too
quickly, the client will ask for the uid/psw and in some cases you will get
the network password error.
2. If the client keeps attempting an access with incorrect info:
a. due to incorrect info
b. due to corrupted file that contains the info
the server could lock the account like ours do for a pre determined amount
of time. Our servers lock it for about five minutes the first time. The
second time it locks the account and you have to login web based and enter a
security code and show that is you accessing the account and not someone
trying to hack the server. This amount of time the account is locked is for
12 hours.
don't know if it helps, but I hope it does,
chuck
