I am using Office 2000 Professional and I do not have
the "out of office assistant" in the email section. I am
looking to find a simple way to download this feature so
that when I am out of the office and emails arrive, I can
have the program send an automatic message.

Any advise?

Unless you're connected to an Exchange Server, you won't have this feature.
You'll have to use the Rules Wizard and leave Outlook on and connected to
the Internet to approximate this feature.
