Ever clicked “send†on an email accidentally or in haste and then regretted
it. In that case you are a member of a club with millions of members. It
used to be the case that the slow speed of internet connections meant that if
you rushed to the outbox you could prevent some pitfalls – your only hope
these days is that the attachment is so large that it hasn’t gone by the time
you realize your mistake. In the last month alone I had two messages that
have been sent to me because the sender didn’t check the address - one
imparted some trade secrets which fortunately I didn’t understand the second
was not complimentary about my attempts to organize a sales meeting to
promote our product . I think a very useful “option†in Outlook would be
such that the following message can appear “You have addressed this email to
…. are you sure.“ It gives the opportunity for the sender to have a second
chance to address any error. If they don’t spot the error then they deserve
the consequences.
