Hello,

Recenlty I installed Outlook 2007 trial, not knowing that it would replace
my current version Outllook 2002. The new version was locking up on me so I
uninstalled it an reinstalled v2002.

2002 doesn't open but gives me the familiar Microsoft Outlook has
encountered an error and needs to close message. So I need to Send the
error to Microsoft and given an option to open in Safemode. Safemode works,
ok, but I can't save my options.

I uninstalled Office 2007, tried repairing and reinstalling Office 2002,
then I uninstalled and uninstalled Outlook2002.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to either fix or troubleshoot this
problem?

Thank you and God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

Hello Diane,

I don't know what you mean, so I guess I didn't. Will you explain how to do
that? There was nothing in Help about profiles other than speech
recognition profiles.

Thank you and God Bless,

Mark

Diane,

My original profile is there and it is addressing it. I don't want to
create a new profile and start over.

You want to know what the real issue is? Its me. I'm stupid. I installed
Office 2007 trial version. My next mistake was trying to purchase it online
from Microsoft. I don't even want to try to discribe how bizarre the whole
"experience" was. That is a good buzz word to use, becuase it is always an
experience using Microsoft products, but not usually a good one.

The problem isn't the profile, it is that this idiot company is out of
control. I know, people on this newsgroup are going to call me a whiny
baby, but I don't understant why. If you bought a car, drove it down the
road and it went out of control and ran into a tree, would you you think
there was a legitimate complaint or would you be a whiny crybaby. Actually
a trainwreck would provide a better analogy.

The solution isn't a new profile, it is booting Bill Gates and his side kick
Steve Balmer out of the company.

When you change versions you need a new profile because parts of it are
updated to reference the newer version. If you want to drop back to the
older version of Outlook, you will need to make a new profile if you want it
to work trouble free. Otherwise, you can continue to work in safe mode or
dump outlook in favor of a non-microsoft application. The choice is yours.
