outlook not responding when opening encrypted email

I have a user on a exchange account that whenever he opens an encrypted
email, outlook 2007 "freezes" any help would be greatly appreciated

Do the settings look OK in Tools>Trust Center>E-mail Security? Can s/he
open the certificate and see the properties? Do they all look OK? Is the
private key in the certificate intact?
