Outlook not receiving email

I have followed all of the instructions to get Outlook to receive messages
form my ISP mailbox (i.e. correct POP/SMTP, etc.) but I can't receive my mail
in Outlook? Any help would be gratefully received. I am running Windows
XP/Office 2003 - ISP tis Tiscali.

What happens when you try? What does Tiscali say?
 
Emails go to the Tiscali mail box but not to Outlook - if you make Outlook
Express the default, they are received by Outlook Express? I'm sure I've
followed the instructions correctly - Tiscali are no help - they just gave
the instructions that I already have

Does Outlook report any errors when you perform a send/receive? Is there
anything logged in the Event Viewer?
