Hope you don't mind my jumping in. I have OL 2003 and XP Home.
I had followed OL help directions to add "News" to the Go menu. Then later
the command disappeared. When I try to follow the help directions again, I
can't find the "News" command to add anymore! Am I missing something? Is
the "News" command only visible from within a certain OL folder or
something?
I also just followed the previous post and from the control panel I set OE
as the newsreader, but still no mojo in my Go, ya know?

| It would help immensely if everyone would PLEASE POST the version of
Outlook
| that you are using. There are currently 5 versions of Outlook and 7
modes -
| each one has different answers depending on the question. Help up help
you.
|
| Now, assuming that you are talking about Outlook 2003, you need to make
| Outlook Express the default news reader in Control Panel->Internet
| Options->Programs tab. If OE asks you to make it the default, do not do
so
| when you open OE.

| After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer
| Jim Tall <

|
| | I followed the directions and put the 'news' option on
| | my 'go' dropdown menu and it ran fine that first time.
| | When I went back to it it now starts windows explorer
| | without an error message. Do I need to do a registry
| | tweak to have it find the program again... what is the
| | news reader executable?

| | thanks
