Outlook Mailformat

In Outlook, Tools, Options, Mail Format both boxes are checked to use Word as
the editor; however, I want to UNcheck those boxes and it will not LET me do
it because the checkboxes are greyed out???? How can I fix it so that the
checkboxes are NOT greyed out? Thanks.

Outlook version? Office or home environment?
