Outlook keeps hanging on mobile broadband connection

Hi there,
are there any settings that I should check to stop Outlook
from keep hanging when I'm on a mobile broaband connection? All other
internet program work just fine, it is only Outlook that has an issue with
it.
 
I shoiuld mention that it is Outlook 2007 on XP Pro SP 3. The task bar icon
is permanently set to "Microsoft Outlook is requesting dats from the
server". Messages stay in the Outbox until you kill the Outlook process and
restart it.
 
Hi Diane,
it's in corporate mode from Exchange. No internet mail.
It's using Cached Exchange Mode, Connect using LAN, Connect to Exchange
using HTTP.

It should work as long as its on lan - that allows the computer to pick up
on any open connection.

Do you use it outside the Exchange network using wired broadband? Which cell
service do you use? Are you in the 3G or the slower service area? I know
from experience that Outlook is a slug outside of Verizon's 3G network. It
does connect though.

Hold control as you right click the task bar button - there is a connection
dialog that might give you some clues. The only thing I can think is that
it's having trouble finding the mail or directory server.
