Outlook is so slow to load; it should be faster.

I recently installed with XP Pro SP2+ the 2003 Pro Office suite plus latest
updates:
there are moments when Outlook is painfully slow to load (althoough i have
2gb ram and a 3.0 mhz cpu). This is surely a step backwards, not forward.
If I have the problem, I'm sure others must also; but if you are interested
in my giving details, I'll try to remember to log specifics.

How fast does it load in Outlook Safe Mode?
What add-ins do you have installed?
What account type do you have configured?

You mention "a step backwards"; from what?

Also, what account type do you use? Outlook as an Exchange Server client
can be very slow if the Exchange Server is slow or overloaded.
