My Outlook 2002 for Windows XP is giving me fits all of a
sudden. It prompts me every 30 seconds for a network
password, and each time I enter it, I get the same pop up
box 30 seconds later asking the same question. I also see
that I am getting 2 of each incoming message. Any idea
why this program is suddenly so messed up? Sure would
appreciate some guidance in getting it back to normal
since I use it all day for business. Thanks.

Sounds to me like 2 seperate things- both you probably caused
inadvertently. The duplicates can come from different errors but the most
common I found is an error in one of your inbox rules. Try diabling the
rules (individually if necessary)to idenetify which one is the problem.

Being prompted for the password that often means 2 things to me- 1) Your
mail server could be down a lot- like hotmail seems to be up and down
erratictly on my system- (or the network is just busy at that moment) and
2) you are set to send and receive too often. Try adjusting the time
between full send/receive operations. Remember, the option to "send
immediately" performs a send/receive each time (I think!) you complete an
email.

Both are at Tools>>Options>>Mail Setup>>Send/Receive

Just some of my trials and tribulations........
