I had trouble hotsynching Outlook with my Treo, although it used to work fine. Lately it has synched some but not all files. Then it crashed. The Microsoft Crash Analysis told me to download Office updates and I did. Now Outlook won't work at all. It opens but then freezes and I can only close it with task manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I tried to run SCANPST.exe but my system doesn't recognize it. I can't access "Tools" because I can't get anything on Outlook but an error tone. I have tried a system restore but my computer tells me the computer cannot be restored to the point before download the updates (Office SP3 and 4)

I am running Outlook 2000 on Windows XP Home.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

find and delete extend.dat, outcmd.dat (you'll lose custom toolbars) and
*.srs for your profile.

What version of outlook? you can try creating a new profile if it's
Ol98/2000 corp mode or Ol97/2002/2003.

Good morning, Diane

I have done a "Search" and cannot find any of the three files you mentioned. I also used Windows Explorer to look into Office files manually. Are they hidden files? Where would they be

I am using Outlook 9.0.0.6627

Thanks for your advice. I'm sure the files must be here somewhere

They are hidden files and are usually in %USERPROFILE\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Enable showing hidden files and folders and you'll
find them.

Thanks, Brian

I had already enabled viewing hidden files and folders and had used Explorer to go to the location you specify but found only OUTCMD.Dat. Then I realized my "Search" feature did not search hidden files until instructed it to do so. With that, I also found two copies of extend.dat. I still am unable to find *.srs and still cannot get Outlook to operate despite reboots.

I'm stumped. Sory.

V9 = Ol200 - it doesn't use *.srs. Did it work ok deleting the others?
