Outlook Integration

Hi,

I am looking for help with integrating Outlook Contacts with a MS Access
Database (both XP)

- Assume bi-directional additions, edits, and deletions. Is it possible to
do all three of these tasks from eith Outlook and Access.
- What resources are out there to accomplish this? Are there already
utilities, add-ins that do this?
- Are there books, websites, or articles that cover this topic.
- Are the MS Outlook portals out there, like this one.

This is do-able, although in my opinion it is easier to use Access to
automate Outlook than the other way around.

I'm not aware of any utilities or add-ins that work with Access and Outlook
together to perform automation. But, see the suggest link below.

The best of the best is http://www.slipstick.com, IMO, the best website for

You will find a number of NewsGroups for Outlook in the
"microsoft.public.outlook" area.

In Access simply make a link table to your Outlook Contacts folder.
check help for details.

Be prepared for disappointment if you go that route. The linked table method has major limitations, including the inability to show even all the reasonably important fields. While articles have been written on how to expand on this method's obvious features, I've never been able to duplicate the results. See http://www.slipstick.com/dev/database.htm#linkedtables .
