I have used Outlook as a Calendar/organizer for 4 years with both Pocket PC
and Palm handheld computers. Now I bought a new laptop, and I installed
Office 2000 on it. I want to use Outlook without email (I use Outlook
Express instead) but this time Outlook won’t allow it. Outlook will open but
only as a browser – there are no Calendar, Tasks, and Memo folders. Help
files say there should be options to “use outlook without email†but these
are nowhere to be found in my Outlook. I tried to reinstall but got the same
results. What is up here? Am I missing something?
(I don’t understand the choose profile option that comes up in the
installation dialog either….)
Any help would be appreciated!

If you installed Outlook 2000 in No E-mail mode, you shouldn't be seeing
anything about a profile, since profiles are tied to e-mail. Look for a file
on your hard drive for a .PST extension -- there may be more than one (and if
you're on Windows 2000 or XP, they will likely be found in hidden folders).
That is the file that contains your data.
