outlook install and set up

HELP Please..somebody. I just bought microsoft office student/teacher with
outlook.
on the outlook it comes to a welcome sign and a window to set up a profile.
what is that ? a person name? email addres? what? I am lost. And any ideas on
why iI can no longer click on the email icon in the tool bar while reading
internet news and email to a recipient?
 
A profile in Outlook is a collection of email accounts & data storage files.
Give the profile a name you can use to remember later.
