I just bought a knew computer and i saved my Outlook
folders: ie. Calendar, Inbox, Contacts, etc... as 'Office
Data File'(.pst).
I have now saved these files on my new computer, however
when I try to open the file I am prompted with a caution
message saying that the files are a part of the operating
system and if opened could cause harm.

Does anyone know how i can open these files and import
into my new Outlook?

You can't open the file from anywhere but inside Outlook. First make
sure the file is not marked read-only and that it's on your hard drive,
not on a CD. Then, if you've already opened Outlook and it created a
new, blank .PST file, first find the path to that file by right-clicking
the Outlook Today folder (the root folder in the Folder List), selecting
Properties, then Advanced, and looking in the Filename box. Now close
Outlook, browse to that file in Windows Explorer, and rename it to
outlook.old. (You may have to enable viewing of hidden and system
folders to find the file.) Finally, reopen Outlook and when it
complains it can't find your .PST file, point it to the one you backed
up from your old computer.
