Can anyone help, fairly new to Pcs

I have office xp running on xp pro

It has worked fine every since I brought it 3 months ago.

Today I loaded Outlook and it said it did not shut down properly last time
and would start in safe mode

it loaded ok but all my personal folders and inbox items , and the calendar
entries have gone .

I tried to resolve this with system restore, first time I have needed but
it was not enabled 8-(

I have checked that nothing is disabled.

I have run a full virus scan

Any chance of restoring outlook back to as it was please

many thanks

Outlook stores it's data in a file with a .PST extension. Perhaps this file
has become corrupted?

This company has a program that attempts to repair PST files...

You can download a trial copy and try it out. The trial copy won't actually
fix it for you but it will tell you if the full version (that you have to
pay for) can fix it.

In Office 2000 (or maybe it's part of XP), there is a program called
SCANPST.EXE that will fix corrupted .pst files. Do a search on your system
to see if you have it. On my system it's located in C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT
