Outlook in Intranet

I am trying to create a hyperlink on our intranet site to a user calendar
that is used to book resources at our office. We are using exchange and
outlook 2003. I am using this syntax to create the link Outlook://Mailbox -
Test/Calendar. I have checked permissions and I am wondering if it can be
done. I have also added the user mailbox to open in the exchange profile I am
testing.
 
That syntax will work only if the user has added the mailbox to their Exchange account settings. What is your purpose in doing this?

We are trying to incorporate as many functions as we can in our intranet
site. We have conference rooms setup in exchange as resource accounts.
Management would like a link from the intranet to open the each resource
calendar. I realize I can use public folder calendars, but that eliminates
the users being able to email the resource account to book the room.

You could use the OWA syntax (http://server/exchange/user/calendar.htm) to display the calendar for read-only viewing.

I am sure some users will need to edit. If they already have author
permissions for the resource mailbox will that allow them to edit in OWA.
I may need to mention users already have the resource accounts opening up in
Outlook, but management thought it would be a "nice to have" if they could
open the calendars through the intranet interface. Goal is to have the
intranet as the starting point for as many apps as possible.
 
No, OWA will be read-only for users other than the main mailbox owner.

Not nice at all, really, if you want the resource calendars to be booked as they should be -- through the Outlook meeting request interface.
