I've upgraded my pc to Win XP Pro
I backed up my Outlook .pst file before doing so
I now want to import my .pst into my Outlook
When I try to import I get an error message
What might be wrong
TIA
Firstly, do NOT use the import function - that is the best way to a
corrupted pst file.
You saved the pst file to a CD and are trying to open it from that?
Outlook needs read-write access to be able to do that.
the first step is to copy the pst file from the CD to your HDD (do NOT
overwrite the existing file) and remove the read-only attribute.
The next step depends on what you want to do. You can either open the file
in Outlook (File-Open-Outlook data File) and drag the data to your existing
file, or you can open the file, and set it as the default mail delivery
location. The latter option is a good one if you have lots of data in many
folders and sub-folders.....
