Outlook "hungapp" when starting

I recently had to reformat my hardrive and reloaded Office 2003. When I tried
to set up Outlook I made the mistake of telling it to set my email to
"exchange server" instead of "http". Now when Outlook tries to open it come
up with the Outlook screen and a "configuring Outlook" screen and totaly
locks up. I have tired to delete Outlook, restart and even shut the computer
down and reload the software. And I have downloaded all of Microsoft Updates
for Office 2003. The following message come up in the Send Error Report when
I do "End Task":
szAppName : OUTLOOK.EXE szAppVer : 11.0.6565.0 szModName : hungapp

szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000
How can I fix this problem?

Control Panel->Mail Icon-> Remove the Exchange account. Start over and
install the http account.
