I am running Outlook 2003 and it has started to hang when
trying to open some email messages. I have run the inbox
repair tool and it has reported that there are no
problems. I have Norton Anti-virus installed, and I have
tried accessing the email with both the AV runing and
disabled. The strange thing, is that outlook
will 'selectivly' it seems not allow me to view emails
that I have already read. I am not using any
preview/reader panes, but opening the email in a new
window. Once Outlook hangs, I have to end the process
manually, and I can see that there are two instances of
outlook running. I am guessing that the second instance
it the email I am trying to open. Any suggestions/help?
I have been unable to find anything on technet, and I am
hoping that someone here has run into the smae problem
and found a solution.

Try looking on Sue Mosher's Slipstick site for more
information:

To repair a damaged Personal Folders PST file:
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/scanpst.htm

On this page is also mentioned the use of Scandisk.exe
and the PST2GB tool (along with some others).
